Interests
Michaela is currently an undergraduate student at Queen Mary University of London studying Materials Science and Engineering. Prior to this Michaela completed her A-Levels in Headington Girls School Oxford and simultaneously completed Primary School education in Montenegro and in the UK, advancing her linguistic skills. In 2018, Michaela successfully conducted a project within the research programme for Applications in Molecular, Bio-medical and Material science. Along with active researchers at ELI Beamlines, she conducted a project using a Michelson interferometer and Attocube sensors to measure and investigate the precision and reliability of a motorised linear translation stage. In 2021 Michaela wrote a research proposal for a CERN organised competition on experimentally assessing DNA repair mechanisms of radioresistant bacteria under the mentorship of Prof. Janos Hajdu. With interest in the development of nanotechnology for biomedical research, Michaela has joined QMCUR and will be working under the mentorship of Prof Stoyan Smoukov.
