We are excited to share the remarkable achievements of three outstanding students from our QMCUR community: Jake Seah, Ava Dahlia Belafonte, and Emma Nicolai. Their recent recognition underscores their exceptional contributions and accomplishments.

  • Jake Seah was awarded the Best Poster Award at the Industrial Liaison Event on March 6th, 2024. His winning poster, titled "DLP Printing of Chips for Microvascularized Tissue Models," showcases his innovative research in the field.
  • Ava Dahlia Belafonte participated in the Festival of Education held on March 6-7th, 2024, at QMUL. As a co-author, she contributed to the "Best Innovation Prize" poster titled "Diversifying the STEM curriculum". Collaborating with Dr. Rehan Shah, Prof. Claudia Garetto, and PhD student Maria Fernanda Pintado Serrano, Ava's work highlights the importance of inclusivity in STEM education.
  • Emma Nicolai received the highly esteemed title of "Student of the Year" from UKSEDS for her exceptional initiative and unparalleled leadership. Emma founded the new student society, Queen Mary Students for Exploration and Development in Space (QMSEDS), showcasing her dedication to fostering exploration and development in space science.

These awards testify to the outstanding contributions of our QMCUR students, not only within our academic community but also in shaping a brighter future beyond our institution.

We extend our congratulations to Jake, Ava, and Emma for their well-deserved recognition. Their achievements not only reflect their individual dedication but also contribute to elevating the success and reputation of our QMCUR community. They represent model examples of dedication, reliability, hard work, and collegiality. As they continue their academic journey at Queen Mary, we anticipate further success and achievements, and we look forward to witnessing their continued growth and impact.
